Basically there are three main steps you should take in order to adopt a plugin or template: 1. At Baker McKenzie Australia, we are looking for globally minded and globally aware individuals. In 2016, I participated in a one-semester exchange program at Lund University in Sweden. Instead of being a one-time event, it became the beginning of an exchange of ideas that continues to influence my life in a positive way. It offered me excellent opportunities to gain personal independence, develop an international perspective and experience different cultures. My oversea experience will equip me with a sharp sense of cultural competence in working environments and enable me to work flexibly in different transactions.

During my internship at Pinsent Masons LLP in Beijing, I worked as part of the infrastructure and energy team which was mainly focused on advising Chinese clients on the development and financing of international energy and infrastructure projects. In one occasion, in order to assist my partner in an on-going negotiation, I efficiently and comprehensively researched the issue of administrative procedures for approval and record-filing as it might affect the transaction structure such as the closing of the purchase. For another research project, I assisted in researching the legal framework of Public-Private Partnerships in various countries and drafting a summary report.

In 2015, I obtained legal professional qualification in China. This achievement marked my comprehensive and solid understandings of the legal framework which is based primarily on the model of Civil Law. In combination with my abovementioned work experience, my sound knowledge of and familiarity with different legal systems is beneficial for multi-jurisdictional deals or projects.

Furthermore, I am a native mandarin speaker and have full professional proficiency of English. Baker McKenzie is a global leader in advising both domestic and international clients on national and international transactions. I am proud to be capable of undertaking four courses each semester while working as a casual customer service representative at a bottle shop. This achievement demonstrates my excellent time-management and interpersonal skills.

Having a strong motivation for becoming a commercial lawyer, I am now preparing for the CFA Level 1 exam.

2. Please describe an achievement of which you are proud. This could be in your job, studies, personal life or extra-curricular activities. Why was this important to you? How will your achievement add value to your employment with Baker McKenzie?*

From July 2020 to October 2020, I acted as a member of the sub-committee of the Baker McKenzie National Women’s Moot and assisted the convenors with the organisation and coordination of this national mooting competition. We received team registrations from all States and Territories in Australia with over 90 competitors, and it was the first time that this competition was held successfully via zoom. Throughout the whole event, my duties generally included creating lists of judge candidates, proofreading drawcards, drafting zoom meeting instructions, working as a bailiff and designing prize certificates.

Regardless of the disruption of COVID-19, it was significantly amazing to see female legal professionals, law students and sponsors were dedicated to improving gender equity and female representations across the legal profession. The success of this competition was a changemaker for all the participators. Working as a bailiff offered me an opportunity to learn from others and inspired me to strive for excellence and making a difference.

Moreover, my organisational and problem-solving skills acquired from it will enable me to stay organised at a fast-paced working environment. It also enables me to prioritise tasks and keep track of

As for community activities, I volunteered at Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade in March 2019. Acting as a host to the Parade viewers in helping them avoid congested viewing areas and providing instant response to their questions, I enjoyed meeting and communicating with people from all walks of life. It has been one of the most exciting moments in my life because I had this opportunity to get committed to promoting the diversity of the communities and embracing differences.

I currently develop a large interest in Python and building up my own

• Try to contact the author to make sure the plugin/template is really an orphan
  • if not, send patches to the author instead of creating a new, just slightly different version of the plugin/template (like we currently have with translation, translation2, translation3, …)
  • if the plugin/template is already hosted on a platform like github there is also the possibility that the current author gives you commit access so you can directly commit your changes, manage issues etc. and support the development of the plugin/template without the need that the plugin/template author needs to apply every change you are making.
• If the plugin/template is an orphan, send a mail to the mailinglist with your intend to adopt the plugin/template

• Clone the repository at github if it's there already
• If it isn't check in the last original version into some version control (git + github are recommended)

• Change the plugin/template page and the information provided in the plugin/template itself
  • put your name as author
  • put your email address
  • change the download link to your download of the plugin/template
  • put some info about the original author somewhere in the description of the plugin/template
• Now you are ready to add your patches and make new releases (and should of course do that)

For authors giving their plugins/templates to adoption: use tag !discontinued. If possible send a mail to the mailinglist explaining which plugins/templates you are giving to adoption and in which state they are (and perhaps also some notes which skills the future author needs). Such a mail could of course also be used to find other people who are willing to help you developing the plugin/template.
