Install DokuWiki on Windows
There are many things you can do to install a web service on a Windows server or your local Windows PC. In case you are planning to use IIS then it is better to follow the instruction in the IIS section. Since Dokuwiki does not use any database it is enough to have only PHP working smoothly with IIS or any other web server.
But, if you are looking for an alternative web service for a small network or local use you can look at many of the available solutions to enable Apache with PHP support.
WAMP solutions
There are many free WAMP solutions available which will quickly and easily install Apache with PHP (and other tools).

One-Click solutions
If you only want DokuWiki to work on your local PC without installing anything else or needing to learn how web servers work, the easiest solution is to use a pre-configured package including DokuWiki, PHP and a small server.
The following such one-click solutions are available:
- DokuWiki on a Stick can be downloaded from the official DokuWiki download page. Just choose the option under “Include Web-Server”. This version is portable and can be run from a thumb drive, aka USB stick.
