This is a semi-open wiki for people interested in exploring insights from science and technology to understand the human condition. Anyone can comment, but editing requires creating an account. The hierarchical namespace view is in a sidebar and is heavily used for navigation, with tags used to traverse non-hierarchical relationships. I initially chose DokuWiki because I liked the idea of a file-based wiki where I could always be sure I could get my content out again. Since then I've found that it is fairly easy to administer and search-engine friendly. Though I had no prior experience with javascript and CSS, I've also found it fairly easy to customize the layout and add features such as imagemaps. Currently this site uses a version of the arctic template with modified styles, but this doesn't work quite right with Rincewind.

Though this is not exactly a blog, I make heavy use of the blog plugins tag, cloud, include, pagelist, discussion. Open discussion also requires the captcha and badbehaviour plugins to avoid comment spam.

orphanswanted, editx, redirect, amazon and webmaster are also very useful for refactoring and behind-the-scenes magic.
