This is almost the same with the built-in index function, except that it is a syntax plugin and you can exclude certain top-level namespaces. It can be used in sidebar for navigation.
The plugin is quite simple, if you are looking for something more powerful, please have a look at indexmenu,indexmenu2,etc.
Download and install the plugin using the Plugin Manager using the URL given above. Refer to Plugins on how to install plugins manually.
<simpleindex n1,ns2,ns3>
ns1,ns2,ns3 are the namespaces to exclude from indexing. Only top-level namespaces are supported
